TicketsPlz is a ticketing technology platform. Event Organisers are responsible for their events and for how they use customer data they receive from ticket sales.

2. What Data We Collect

2.1 Data you provide

  • Account details (name, email, phone number (optional), password)
  • Ticket purchase details (buyer name, email, ticket selections, attendee information where required by the Organiser)
  • Organiser details (business name, contact details, event information, policies)
  • Support messages and communications with us

2.2 Data we collect automatically

  • Device and log data (IP address, browser type, pages visited, date/time, referring pages)
  • Approximate location (derived from IP address)
  • Cookies and similar technologies (see Cookies section)

2.3 Payment data

Card payments are processed by Stripe. TicketsPlz does not store full card details.

We may store limited payment-related metadata such as the payment status, transaction reference, last four digits, and card brand (where provided by Stripe).

3. How We Use Personal Data

  • To provide and operate the Platform (accounts, listings, checkout, ticket delivery)
  • To process payments and facilitate payouts to Organisers
  • To prevent fraud, abuse, and misuse and to keep the Platform secure
  • To provide customer support and respond to enquiries
  • To comply with legal and regulatory obligations (including payment provider requirements)
  • To improve the Platform and user experience (analytics, performance, and troubleshooting)

4. Lawful Bases for Processing

We process personal data under one or more of the following lawful bases:

  • Contract - To provide the Platform, deliver tickets, and manage accounts and orders.
  • Legitimate Interests - To operate and improve the Platform, prevent fraud, and maintain security, provided these interests are not overridden by your rights.
  • Legal Obligation - To comply with applicable laws, tax and accounting requirements, and payment provider rules.
  • Consent - Where required for cookies/marketing. You can withdraw consent at any time.

5. Sharing Your Data

5.1 Event Organisers

When you buy tickets, we share the necessary purchase and attendee details with the Organiser so they can run the event, manage entry, contact attendees about event updates, and provide customer service. Organisers act as independent controllers of that data once received.

5.2 Service providers (processors)

We may share data with trusted third-party providers who process data on our behalf, such as:

  • Payment processing and payouts (Stripe)
  • Email delivery and notifications
  • Hosting, storage, and security services
  • Analytics and performance monitoring
  • Customer support tooling
We do not sell your personal data.

6. Payments & Payouts (Stripe)

TicketsPlz uses Stripe to process payments from Customers and to facilitate payouts to Organisers (including via Stripe Connect where applicable). Stripe may process personal data to provide these services, carry out identity checks, and comply with legal requirements.

If you are an Organiser, Stripe may require additional verification information (for example, date of birth, address, and business details) before payouts can be made.

7. International Data Transfers

Some of our service providers may store or process data outside the UK. Where this happens, we use appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA), UK Addendum to EU SCCs, or other legally recognised mechanisms to protect your data.

8. Cookies & Similar Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep the Platform working, remember preferences, understand usage, and improve performance. Where required, we will request consent for non-essential cookies.

  • Essential cookies - Needed for security, login, and core site features.
  • Functional cookies - Remember choices and settings.
  • Analytics cookies - Help us understand how the Platform is used.
  • Marketing cookies - Used to measure and personalise marketing (where enabled).
You can manage cookies via your browser settings and, where available, our cookie preferences tools.

9. Security & Data Retention

9.1 Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data, including access controls, encryption where appropriate, and monitoring for suspicious activity. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work hard to protect your information.

9.2 Retention

We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including:

  • Providing the Platform and servicing your account
  • Handling refunds, disputes, and chargebacks
